About the course

The aim of this course is to provide an up-to-date overview of bootstrap methods for statistical inference, with a specific focus on its application to time series models for economic and financial data. Particular attention will be given to estimation and inference for univariate and multivariate models, both for stationary and non-stationary time series.

Overview

Since 2006 the Department of Economics of the University of Crete is successfully running its Advanced Summer School in Economics and Econometrics. The broader objective of this series of events is to provide advanced training for young researchers from all over Europe and beyond on important disciplines of economics and econometrics. The Summer School follow a traditional structure: lectures in the morning and computer practical sessions in the afternoon. The specialized topic varies from year to year and reflects issues that are currently lively areas of new research and policy interest. The faculty is comprised of leaders in the field, and offers an overall coverage of the specialist area.

The application process opens on the 1st of February 2024.

Application Submission & Status

Before you can submit your application, you will need to upload a short CV and a letter of recommendation from your advisor, supervisor or line manager.

Tuition & Financial Aide

Tuition fees are payable by bank transfer. Specific guidelines are given upon acceptance. The corresponding invoices are handed to the participants in the last day of the course together with their certificates of attendance. Accompanying persons have an extra cost of €250 that includes all ASSEE activities except of morning lectures and computer practicum.
